Subject: next NEPLS meeting

The next meeting of the New England Programming Languages Symposium will
be in late May at Williams College. The possible dates are Thursday,
May 24, Friday, May 25, Tuesday, May 29, or Wednesday, May 30. For
context, Monday, May 28 is Memorial Day.
Williams is roughly a three hour drive from Boston and Providence. I've
driven to the two previous meetings (Boston and Providence) and back in
the same day, so that is quite doable, but some may find it more
convenient to stay overnight either before or after the meeting. I
expect hotels to be heavily booked over the Memorial Day weekend, but
the Wednesday and Thursday before Memorial Day, and the Monday evening
through Wednesday afterward should be very reasonable in terms of
finding rooms.
In order to help determine which day we should settle on, please send me
e-mail listing your preferences in order. Just erase days that are
impossible for you. I'll look at the answers that come in by the end of
the week and determine which day we will schedule the workshop. I
expect that we will keep to a similar schedule as with the first two
meetings. Starting at around 10am (perhaps a little later), and
finishing between 4 and 5pm.

P.S. If you haven't been to Williamstown, it is a very attractive small
town situated in the Berkshire Hills. (We ARE the northwest corner of
Massachusetts!) There are three very good art museums within 3 miles of
campus and lots of good hiking, including the Appalachian Trail and
Mount Greylock, the tallest mountain in Massachusetts. Because the area
draws a lot of tourists, we also have some quite good restaurants. If
you are looking for a break in New England, you could do a lot worse
than spending the time here (presuming the weather cooperates!).
