Reasoning for Selection of Committee

Ravi Sundaram's research interests overlap with many of the topics in Scott's thesis. Daniel Wichs will provide valuable input in helping to make Scott's research more accessible to the broader theory community. Gopal Pandurangan, an external member, has been an integral participant in and originator of several research problems related to Scott's thesis (and is a co-author on two of Scott's papers). Finally, George Giakkoupis, another external member, is an expert on rumor-spreading processes in networks, directly related to Scott's thesis. George is very well-regarded in our field, and may help Scott in making more progress on his open problems.
