VACANCY: PhD student position (4 years)
Project: BODERC
Beyond the Ordinary: Design of Embedded Real-time Control
Where: Informatics for Technical Applications (ITA) group,
University of Nijmegen, the Netherlands
Project description:
The Boderc project focuses on distributed embedded real-time
controllers of complex systems. A printer of Océ is taken as a
case-study and acts as a driver for the project. The target
is an integral approach for a systematic architectural design,
modeling, analysis, and validation methodology of such heterogeneous
systems, including aspects from mechanical engineering, electrical
engineering and informatics.
In this project seven parties (four industrial companies and three
universities) co-operate with the Embedded Systems Institute at
Eindhoven.
Task:
The research at the University of Nijmegen in this multi-disciplinary
project concerns integration of UML-based software design for embedded
systems into a common framework that is suitable for multi-disciplinary
system engineering. This involves hybrid modeling, architectural
descriptions and high-level analysis based on formal methods and tools.
