Hi Doug:

the view of Fred seems to be close to the dual of
an event-based system as Matthias put it.

This reminds me of the Rapide work by David Luckham,
also a former EDCS project:

What is your view on events and AOP?
I think it is worthwhile to put your view on paper;
it seemed to be different than Matthias'.

Matthias view:
C# has a neat event system, whose dual combined with a
translucent interface system could be a model for hiding/publishing aspect
events.

This issue: "events and AOP"
might have to wait until after you are done with the proposal
unless you want to include this in related work.
