There will probably be two short quizzes in addition to the Midterm and Final exams - dates and topics to be announced.
Information on the Midterm Exam
The Midterm will be a hybrid one. The first half of the exam will be closed book. After you hand in your answers to the first part, the remainder of the exam will be open book.
Details on the upcoming Midterm Exam
The questions will be closely related to questions you have already answered on your two assignments. Specific questions are listed below, some with brief comments. You should prepare for the exam by assuming that any of the questions could appear on the closed-book portion.
There will be three or four questions in each of the two halves of the Midterm.
- 2.4 but be prepared to draw and discuss any of the five agent architectures as applied to the vacuum-cleaner robot.
- 3.7 in a reduced form.
- 4.1 but for a simpler map - less complex.
- 5.2 for a different map, not Australia.
- 5.6 for a different problem, and using backtracking with forward checking only.
- 7.5 hint - don't forget to include the worlds for any variables not mentioned, e.g., in 7.5b.
- 7.8 which means that you must have a clear understanding of the definitions of validity, satisfiability, and unsatisfiability.
- 8.6 but only simpler sentences of this form.
- 9.4 extra credit, if asked.
- 9.9 which requires that you have a good understanding of Generalized Modus Ponens.
Information on the Final Exam
- Details about the Final will be posted in due time.
- This will be the standard type of take-home exam.
- It will be a comprehensive exam, covering the entire course.
- I will do mailings to quickly handle any questions that arise about the exam. I will mail individuals or the entire class, whichever is appropriate.
A comprehensive take-home final exam will be
